We were airborne just forty minutes after Damien took our mates. We weren’t far behind, but that did little to calm my nerves. My team is always on standby, trained to move fast with little warning, but this mission? This one mattered more than most.
Everyone understood what was at stake. It wasn’t just about saving my mate, it was Ashton’s and Gabriel’s too. The weight of it pressed on all of us.
