Jacqueline nearly forgot how to breathe. The loved one he had talked about was her. Hayden's tears slipped down the curve of her neck. The warmth of them made her shiver. She wanted to stay in his arms forever, to lose herself in that familiar warmth. Nevertheless, her reason screamed at her to push him away. She was disabled, blind in one eye, and missing an arm. No matter how deeply they had once loved each other, she was no longer worthy of him. Besides, he and Penelope had already started a relationship. Jacqueline slowly came to her senses. She shoved him away with trembling hands and said coolly, "You should be on your honeymoon with Penelope. What are you doing here?" When he didn't answer, she sneered and masked her true feelings with cruel words. "What's this? Did you miss me that much? Did you come all the way to a war zone because you couldn't let go? Should I be grateful that you still love me after I abandoned you twice? Or should I call you pathetic?" Hayden smiled
