She cut straight to the point. "You're here for Jenna, aren't you? Just say it. I don't have time to waste on this."
Chris slammed his hand against the desk. "Who do you think you're talking to?"
Despite the pressure from both sides, Wendy didn't flinch. A faint, mocking smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
"If this isn't important, I'm calling security."
“Not important? After all the shameful things you've done, you dare question us?" Mary snapped. "Wendy, how could you be so vain, even faking your job?"
So that was it. They'd read the lies online and were here to reprimand her for it.
Wendy opened the door with an emotionless expression. "If that's what you came for, then you can leave. Now."
"What did you say?"
Chris seemed stunned. He'd never imagined that the daughter who used to be so obedient would one day tell him to get out.
