Aria’s POV Knox and I broke apart. I turned to see Jade standing there, her arms crossed, looking at us with an amused expression. Knox immediately loosened his grip on me, stepping back slightly. His body tensed instantly, and his eyes darkened. “Who are you?” He growled. I gestured at her. “That’s Jade.” He lifted an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?” But Jade waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t worry, wolf king. I’m here on important business.” Then Knox was gone. One moment he was standing beside me, and the next, he simply vanished. I reached for him, but there was nothing. Just me and Jade in this strange realm. “What’s going on?” I asked, looking around desperately. “Where did Knox go?” Jade shrugged with an unreadable expression on her face. “Don’t know. This is your mind, not mine. He’s probably going back to his body. That’s what matters.” I turned to face her fully, and something in her eyes made my stomach drop. There was a weight in her expression. “Jade, what is it?” I a
