“Sweetheart?” I asked softly, not wanting to startle her. It was a wasteful effort though, considering the fact that she jumped anyway as she spun around to face me. Smiling apologetically I shot her a sheepish smile, pleased when she seemed to instantly relax when she saw it was me at the door and nobody else. “Thank you” she muttered sweetly as I held out my clothes for her, watching as she gently took them from me before holding them against her chest. Smiling at her I reached around to turn the shower on, giving her one last look before heading for the door. “Call me if you need anything” I made sure to tell her, getting a nod in return before I reluctantly shut the door behind me. I didn’t like letting her out of my sight, but I wasn’t going to appear controlling and make her uncomfortable by staying.
