**Colton's POV** I nudged my mate off my father, very aware of the wolves surrounding us ready to kill her for attacking their alpha. Aurore snapped at me, but whimpered when she realized who I was. I nudged her again and she backed off. She only walked a couple feet away before laying down, her eyes still pinned on my father like a dangerous predator watches its prey. I lay next to her trying to calm her down and show the rest of the pack that she wasn't a threat. She tried to get up, but I stopped her before she was attacked by my pack. My father's eyes locked with my mate's and her growled at her disrespect. The pack was never supposed to look the alpha in the eyes. I growled back at my father.
