Amber’s POV “That’s enough,” Julian said, his voice billowing. If the tension in his shoulders and back were anything to go on, and I suspected that they were, then he wasn’t just furious about his family’s questioning, he was near raging. Very gently, to help him control his wolf, I lifted my hand and placed it on his back at the shoulder. At first, he tensed further, but then, blessedly, started to relax under my palm. His family must have sensed the danger rising in him too, because they fell silent at his command. Tony could say what he wanted, and their family could believe who they wanted, but as of this moment, Julian was still the Alpha. His wolf was therefore still the strongest in the pack, and until he was challenged and would lose that challenge, this would remain true. “Tony has chosen to make an enemy of me, but not by speaking against me to the press,” Julian said, his tone steadier now. “He made an enemy of me by deciding to poison my mate and my mother with w
