Chapter 860
Tabitha suddenly twisted the acupuncture needle with force. Daphne was instantly silenced, her only sound a tormented whimper.
Tabitha looked at Daphne and slowly said, "Miss Sutton, some things cannot be erased with just an 'I didn't mean it.' Just like the dead can never be brought back to life."
Daphne looked into Tabitha's eyes. She felt a strangely familiar pang, yet she was certain she had never seen this face before.
She said despairingly, "So what do you want me to do? The man is dead. Fine, I'll go join him! Why are you even saving me?"
Tabitha replied, "Because the living should have the pain the dead suffered forever carved into their soul."
"Who are you? Grandpa, I don't want her treating me anymore."
Daphne felt a primal terror. She saw a hatred directed at her—and the shadow of Tabitha—in this woman's eyes.
Tabitha vanished without a trace after she left. Some said she was already dead.
Even if she was alive, she couldn't possibly look like this.
