ELORA'S POV The last two days flew by so quickly it almost felt like it never happened. And now here I was, standing at the edge of another weekend, my mind was already making little plans to fill the quiet hours. I had thought of calling Selene for a girls hangout, just the two of us, maybe we can do brunch or go shopping—anything to make up for the last time I bailed on her. But when I reached out to her, she told me she had work today. “Tomorrow, then.” She said cheerfully before rushing off the line. Tomorrow, I nodded to myself and promised to hold her to her words. This morning, Brandon had sent me a text that caught me off guard. Brandon: “Lila wants to revisit the first place she met you. The swimming resort. Would you like that?” I read the message twice, a little smile tugging at the corner of my lips. Out of all the places that bright-eyed girl could have chosen to have fun—an amusement park, a toy shop, somewhere loud and dazzling—but no, she had picked the quiet pool where
