Chapter 6

Seraphina's POV Golden light penetrated the white curtains as I opened my eyes. I woke up slowly, squinting and holding my dizzy head. When I was fully conscious, I froze momentarily when I realized where I was. A naked body curled up with steady breathing. I covered my mouth when I saw a long scratch on the man's back—my doing. I cursed myself. What had I done to him? It seemed like I had completely lost my mind. One word echoed in my mind: escape! I slowly got out of bed and dressed with trembling hands. My heart was pounding again, but not because of the kiss, but because of panic and fear. Every time I moved, my eyes glanced at him warily, but the man remained fast asleep, snoring softly. I tiptoed towards the door, trying not to make a sound, doing it as carefully as possible. All along the corridor, last night's events kept replaying. His wet lips and warm breath, the way he kissed me so skillfully, made me drunk. His warm embrace and the way he treated me made my heart race. All
