MADELINE'S POV  The private session with Alpha Novare wasn't necessary. He used it as a way to feel Alpha Konan's interest in me. Did it work? Yes, it did.  Alpha Novare escorted me out to the door of his room, and when we opened the door, there stood Alpha Konan standing at the far end of the hall.   Alpha Novare's face was plastered with a smug grin and he whispered to my ears,  "Your Alpha is here. Keeping Alpha Konan on his tippy toes has never felt so good."  He closed the door behind me and I walked towards where the predator was standing, ready to devour.  "Follow me," he demanded.  I followed him obediently to his study. He stood for a while, backing me, his hands on his waist—akimbo. A little while later, he turned to me, his eyes narrowed and bloodshot.
