It was late at night when Bella finally returned to Miller Manor. As soon as she stepped through the door, she noticed that the lights in his room were off, which meant he hadn't come home because he always left a bedside lamp on when he slept. She didn't think much of it, but a sudden thought hit her. Things had been easier when she had a crush on him, but now that they were together, it felt exhausting. Ian smiled at her. "Blame Dominic. He dragged me out for drinks last night, and I almost couldn't get up this morning. Why are you late too? Fighting with him never feels good, huh?"
