HAVEN I haven't seen or heard from Alpha Haiden since that day Ryder strolled in here with a marriage proposal I rejected. The secret he revealed has left me with a sour taste in my mouth since no response has been received from my stepfather. I expected him to yell, smash things to the ground or even ask me and my mother to leave immediately and for her to wait for the divorce papers, but none of the above happened. I'm on edge, it's been a week but instead of making me feel better, it just worsens the anxiety. What if his anger is still brewing? Did he take it out on Aamon? I sigh, resting my head in my palms. I haven't stepped out of my room the entire week, sometimes, I think I hear footsteps outside my door and hold my breath, but then complete silence follows next.
