Stacy smacked two loud kisses onto Natalie's cheeks.
Meanwhile, Natalie remained frozen in place.
"Why do you look so spaced out? Aren't you happy to see me?" Stacy asked. Then, she sighed. "It looks like two years apart really does make people grow distant. Even friends who grew up together can't stand the test of time."
Natalie blinked, taking a long while to come back to her senses. She asked, "Stacy, when did you graduate? When did you come back? And you and Mr. Wagner… What's your relationship with him?"
Natalie and Stacy were childhood friends. Their families lived right next door to each other, and the two girls had been inseparable since they were barely able to speak.
When Natalie married Jeffrey, Stacy had even been her bridesmaid.
