[James’ POV] James truly didn’t know what to do with himself. He felt as though the earth beneath his feet had split open and was threatening to swallow him whole. In the span of the last twenty-four hours, he’d become convinced that he had single-handedly ruined his relationship with Mia. ‘Everything,’ he thought. ‘Everything had been going so well until that woman posing as Evelyn showed up.’ The fact that his Uncle Edward had the audacity to pull such a stunt had James’ wolf snarling with venomous rage.
