Chapter 817 Wound

The knife felt cold against her skin. Shivers ran down Tamara’s spine. “Who was that?” James’s voice was gentle, but the knife against Tamara’s skin betrayed his emotion. Anger boiled inside James and woe betide anyone who dared to cross him. Tamara’s eyelashes trembled. She turned around suddenly, causing the knife to slice through her. James put the knife away unconsciously. He widened his eyes.” Have you lost your mind?” Tamara’s clear eyes were void of any emotions. “You’re the one who lost your mind. How many people have you killed?” James pursed his lips. It seemed that the cat was out of the bag. So what? James gave the knife to one of his men. “I am just trying to get rid of the ones standing between us, Tamara. Can’t you see? Vanessa is in love with me.” His words amused Tamara. “Why would I care if Vanessa likes you?” James’ face darkened. “You ought to. You are my fiancée, after all. And as my fiancée, you must know everything about me!” James grabbed Tamara’s shoulders and came closer to her. “Tell me who that person is! They saw something they shouldn’t have. Our marriage will be ruined because of them!” Tamara’s shoulders hurt from how hard James was gripping them. “Let go of me. You’re hurting me.” James took a shuddering breath and quickly released her, but he still stood close to her. Tamara took out a tissue and wiped the blood from her neck. She huffed, “I don’t know who she is. She ran away when I came here.” “Is that so?” James narrowed his eyes. He suddenly reached into Tamara’s pocket and pulled out a phone. Tamara’s eyes flew open, and she went to grab the phone back. “Where are your manners, James? How dare you dig through my pocket!” Tamara glared at him. James raised an eyebrow at her. “This phone doesn’t belong to you. That person must have given it to you, right?” Tamara tightened her grip on the phone. “Of course, it’s mine. I just bought it!” James huffed, “You bought an outdated phone?” Tamara snorted, “I’m into the classics.” James gritted his teeth. He observed the cold look Tamara was giving her. He knew how alert Tamara was right now, so he chose to keep his mouth shut. He remembered how awful his men looked after having their asses handed to them. James had to be careful. Tamara was good. None of his men could stand a chance against her. Also, James didn’t want to strain their relationship any more than necessary. “Let’s head back, Tamara. We have to treat the wound on your neck.” James changed the subject. Tamara made way for him. “After you.” James fell silent. He didn’t like the look Tamara was giving him, but now wasn’t the time for that. James pushed open the door and walked in. On the other side of the door lay a completely different world, one that was brimming with activity and sound, unlike the grim and dark atmosphere they had left behind. Tamara relaxed at the sight of the crowd. She thought James would kill her. But it seemed she had underestimated her importance to James. Back at the ward, James directed his men to summon a doctor to treat Tamara’s wound.
