Chapter 827 She Smiled Suddenly
To Tamara’s surprise, the Lane family had installed a robust security system that was considerably stronger than its previous version. Numerous confidential files were now encrypted, and all records related to the family members were behind a secure firewall.
Tamara clicked her tongue.
Did they realize they got hacked?
Was that why they upgraded their security system?
But this didn’t make a difference to her.
Tamara’s nimble fingers danced across the keyboard. She soon broke through the firewall and found Sebastian’s location.
Tamara’s eyes glossed over when she saw Sebastian was being held captive by the Lane family.
It was a big house. A man stood in the empty living room and was feeding the fish.
He had his back to Tamara. Something flashed across Tamara’s eyes. She suddenly remembered something and couldn’t help but laugh.
Upon checking the house’s security system, Tamara noticed that both families were keeping a close watch, making it impossible for anyone to get to Sebastian.
Tamara shut down her laptop and stood up. She came to the balcony and stared at the orange sky.
Tamara narrowed her eyes, and something cruel glowed within them.
…
In the evening.
Someone knocked on her door.
Tamara went to open the door. James was standing outside, and behind him was a waiter with a tray of food.
“Let’s have some food,” said James before he pushed past Tamara.
Tamara shook her head. “Let’s eat in your room instead.”
James quirked an eyebrow, and his smile deepened. “Sure.”
The room next door had the same decor as Tamara’s. The two sat at the dining table and ate in silence.
Tamara had no appetite and quickly finished her meal. After wiping her mouth with a tissue, she turned to James.
James noticed Tamara’s unusualness. “You’re acting weird, Tamara.”
Tamara glanced indifferently at him. “Have you ever felt regret, James?”
James paused. He knew where she was getting at, but he had done a lot of bad things. Which one should he feel regretful over?
James smiled faintly, “Why would I feel regret?”
Tamara retracted her gaze. “Forget it. I’m going back.”
James stopped her. “What’s the rush? Let’s look at the wedding venue first.”
Tamara didn’t reject his idea. She merely nodded.
James couldn’t help but question her unusual obedience. “What are you plotting, Tamara?”
Tamara sneered at him, “I’m sure you can look into it yourself.”
James gritted his teeth.
Tamara ignored him and went straight for the door.
She went back to her room to collect some stuff before exiting the hotel and getting into a car.
The church was well-decorated.
Flower arches rounded the entire place, and there was a red carpet that led from the door all the way to the foyer.
But Tamara was not the least bit happy about this. She walked around the church blankly.
James smiled at her, “Is there anything else you want to add?”
Tamara frowned, “It’s cold here. Will I freeze to death in my wedding dress?”
James shook his head. “You won’t. There are heaters in the church.”
Tamara pursed her lips and said nothing.
“You will be my wife soon, Tamara.” James stared longingly at her. He didn’t bother hiding his obsession for her behind those eyes.
Tamara hummed, “When will you give me the antidote?”
James grinned, “Right after the wedding.”
Tamara nodded and kept her silence. She turned to leave the church.
James trailed after her. He observed Tamara’s figure. “Let’s go back to the hotel.”
“I want to go to the beach,” argued Tamara. She got in the car and glanced at James coldly. “You’re not recovered yet. You should head back.”
James smiled joyfully. He liked when Tamara cared for him. “I can’t let you go alone. I’ll go with you.”
