Chapter 68

"If you don't get to the car before me, you won't attend the ball with me anymore!!" Riley's eyes widened open hearing his threat. Before Benjamin would move, she took the first step, rushing past him to the car. She sat down at the back seat, waiting for him to appear. A few seconds later, he finally showed face, taking his seat next to her. He arranged his seat belt before turning to face her. She heard him let out an annoyed huff. Riley could feel his piercing gaze burning a hole into her skin. She didn't know why she had to invite his wrath upon herself on a night like this. She has always known how he is; an hot tempered man who cared about nothing but himself but she still asked the dumb question anyway. She sighed and stared out the window; "If only mom was here." She thought to herself. She had hoped that Madison would at least come see her before she left but her condition had worsened over the week so she couldn't leave the hospital. The drive of about an hour felt like etern
