Chapter 185 Finding a Vial
Leona's POV:
Ignoring Viktor's stunned gaze, I struggled to my feet, escaping his embrace.
In the pouring rain, I limped forward, each step drawing a sharp pain throughout my body.
Viktor did not come after me. The night was dark, the rain blurring my vision.
I didn't notice the protruding root beneath my feet, and I lost my balance as I fell backward, my back slamming hard against a massive redwood tree, crushing a patch of moss beside me.
The pain I felt in my body and in my heart finally spilled over as I sat in the rain, bawling my eyes out.
Three years of suffering and injustice erupted just like that.
I didn't know how long I sat there crying. The rain had stopped as I cried myself out. I slumped under the tree, staring blankly at the sky.
A gust of wind blew past me, causing my hair to stick to my face. As I brushed away the damp strands, I noticed a mark on the trunk of the large tree behind me.
