chapter 48. A Little Flushed Ace and I made a quick pit stop at my house before heading to the restaurant, and I saw my family’s instant relief when we walked hand-in-hand through the front door. They were all glad we’d finally made up. I was glad too. Despite his reluctance to leave my side, I made him wait downstairs with my brothers while I got ready. Half an hour later, I walked back downstairs to find Ace playing Mario Kart with my brothers in the living room. He was so focused on the game that he didn’t notice when I arrived.
