Chapter 196
Scarlett's words only made Leroy scoff coldly.
"This was my own decision, Scarlett. It has nothing to do with you. Maybe you should stop overthinking it."
After saying this, Leroy prepared to leave.
But when she saw this, Scarlett sighed. "Leroy, why won't you listen to me?"
However, he did not hear those words.
As Leroy stepped out into the hallway, he let out a deep sigh. The Myer family's affairs were indeed troublesome. But as a doctor, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing. Especially since Wesley was pushing for it behind the scenes.
Wesley had long been hoping that William would come to the hospital. Thinking of this, Leroy knew he couldn't refuse.
That afternoon, the Myer family arrived with a large entourage.
Seeing the sheer number of people from the Myer family surprised Leroy. He had thought only Matthew would come, but he hadn't expected so many others.
"Mr. Myer, rest assured. Mr. Myer Senior is in good hands at our hospital.
While Wesley spoke with conviction, Matthew kept his eyes on Leroy.
"Dr. Olson, I've brought my grandfather here. Are you truly confident?"
As he looked at Leroy, he couldn't hide the concern in his heart.
After all, bringing his grandfather here has been a significant risk for him. Many in the Myer family were eagerly waiting for his grandfather to pass away, especially Nancy. Once that happened, she would be able to claim her share of the inheritance.
"The specifics depend on the test results, but our hospital will do everything possible," Leroy replied.
Yet, Matthew's expression darkened after hearing this.
"That's not what I was asking. Didn't Scarlett tell you? The Myer family is in the middle of a power struggle. Do you really think this will go smoothly?"
After Matthew finished speaking, Leroy chuckled. His gaze took on a thoughtful look.
"I wonder what kind of relationship you and Scarlett have, Mr. Myer. But I'm just a doctor, and my only job is to heal my patients. As for your family feuds, I have no interest in getting involved."
With that, he turned to head back to the patient's room.
The next moment, Nancy strode in as her high heels clicked sharply against the floor.
"This hospital is far too shabby. Is this what you call a VIP ward?" She looked around with disdain, and her eyes filled with contempt.
Upon hearing this, Wesley quickly stepped forward. He maintained a polite smile as he spoke.
"Mdm. Jones, this is our hospital's top-tier suite. We have assigned our most skilled doctor to ensure Mr. Myer Senior receives the best care possible."
Nancy scoffed dismissively. "You'd better make sure of that. William has high expectations for this hospital. If you disappoint us, you should know the consequences."
After Nancy finished speaking, Matthew frowned slightly.
"This is our family's business. There's no need to put so much pressure on them," he interjected.
But Nancy immediately expressed her displeasure.
"I'm doing this for the Myer family. Or do you want something to happen to your grandfather? As your stepmother, of course I have more to be concerned about than you."
