The carriage came to a stop at last, and Leon helped me out with great gentleness. The road on either side was covered with dense forests, and a dome-shaped white house stood before us. As I looked up I saw the Temple of the Moon on the top of the hill. So this was the Temple of the Moon. But when I've asked Leon about it before, he has steered clear of the subject. Why has he brought me here to-day? He was such a capricious, impalpable creature! “Let’s go!” Leon put his arm around my waist and led me toward the white domed house. The carriages were drawn up behind us, and the armoured guards were posted in two lines on either side of the road. We entered the house through an open door. The house is surrounded by four large circular pillars, each carved with an image of a werewolf and the moon. A candelabrum was placed in the centre, and upon it stood a number of burning candles. “Did you bring her here?” A low female voice came softly from behind us. “Yes, she’s here!” Leon looked at
