Liora's POV Chloe chuckled at the look on my face. "I'm not sure about the exact timeline. Once the new elixir project is finished, you'll be free to return. Nathan only told me that Alpha Kieran needed someone for the role and asked me to recommend a candidate. Don't worry, I'll give you time to think it over." The development of the new elixir could take a year, maybe even two. I didn't answer right away. Chloe must have seen the hesitation in my eyes because she added, "If you join Alpha Kieran's team, the compensation will be far better. From what I've heard, their salaries are generous, and your current position here won't be taken from you." Did that mean I'd actually be earning two salaries at once? My heart gave a sharp jolt. Whatever hesitation I'd felt vanished in an instant. During that last trip with Kieran, I'd already learned he wasn't the type to be stingy. "Alright, I'll do it. When should I start?" I asked. Chloe's smile widened. She patted my shoulder lightly.
