Chapter 50. Decisions, Decisions
It was my turn to hurry to the shadowy porch for some much-needed space. As expected, Dante and Hector attempted to follow my rapid exit, but I held them back with a frantic flicker of my hand. Right now, I need to be alone with my muddled thoughts; so here I am. Rooted to the spot, I watch the blazing sun steadily sink down towards the tree-tops, praying for some inspiration.
Honestly, I can't believe I'm in the midst of this proverbial tug of war. When I woke up this morning, I was expecting to spend the rest of the day rifling through that dusty store-room. "It is. If I choose one, the other will be mad at me." I whisper sadly, pacing the darkened porch. "I've spent the past few months rejecting Dante's efforts to bring me back to Midnight Fire. How can I say no to my mate, yet again?"
