#Chapter 72 Sweet Victory
Carol’s POV
“You were amazing!” Aiden praises as we get back to our hotel room.
I can’t shake the feeling I felt when I locked eyes with Morgan before leaving the party. There was something in her gaze that made me feel a little uneasy, but I hadn’t mentioned that to Aiden just yet.
I don’t want to ruin the moment because he’s so happy that we beat Katrina at her own game. Honestly, I’m surprised we found anything. I knew there was a good possibility that Katrina was the one who stole the money and set me up, but there was still a part of me that didn’t think it would be that easy to get the information out of her.
Oliver had done amazing work, and I made a mental note to send him praise later. But for right now, I’m finally proven innocent. It’s late in the evening; late enough where calling Mr. Whitlock would be pointless.
I’ll have to call him in the morning. But for right now, I just want to focus on my victory and on Aiden.
