#Chapter 513: Missing Pieces

“Goodbye, Nina. We’ll miss you.”
Jessica and Lori held me tightly just outside the swirling portal, tears in their eyes. I had already cried all of the tears I possibly could, and felt utterly dried up; but it didn’t make their leaving hurt any less.
“I’ll miss you guys, too,” I said softly. “But we can visit.”
Luke, who was standing off to the side, nodded. “We’ll come every week. I’ll make sure of it.”
I managed the tiniest smile and took a step back. “Thank you.”
As I watched my friends go through the portal, I knew that a big change was ahead of me. I was going to be staying here, in the supernatural realm with my parents and my brother, for the foreseeable future. It was funny how things did a 180, and so quickly, too.
But I had no desire to return to Mountainview. Not now, at least. And I especially didn’t have any desire to return to the home that Enzo and I once shared.
