THIRD PERSON’S POV
Derek’s stomach twisted, but he kept his face impassive as, one by one, the other Alphas began to murmur their agreement. First cautiously, then more openly. Nods circled the table. Draven’s argument, bolstered by the authority of Aurelia’s father, was spreading like wildfire.
“Resources will strengthen us all.”
“A Luna by his side makes the union stable.”
“Better Draven than leaving the land untouched.”
“Laws can be bent when it comes to the pack.”
It was happening before Derek’s eyes—support shifting like a tide. His own reasoning, logical and rooted in law, was drowned by ambition and fear.
Finally, the council head struck his staff on the floor. “The matter is settled for now. The uncharted lands remain under consideration, but Alpha Draven has made his intent clear—and with the support voiced here, his claim carries weight.”
