Maeve reached out and took Zion's hand.
Though Zion often seemed indifferent, Maeve knew his heart was far softer than he let on.
The staff who had just left had likely been with him for years. Whoever had orchestrated this had employed ruthless tactics, shattering their defenses and sending his people to prison.
"I'm fine," Zion said, his voice calm as he tightened his hold on her hand. "Let's take a look inside."
