Crystal didn't even need to ask to know who that was. She couldn't believe Stephen would harass her mother after his pitiful act didn't work on her. Crystal immediately rushed over. Sure enough, she heard Stephen's voice when she reached the ward's door. "Mrs. Hoffman, please trust me. I really love Crystal. Back then, I was blinded by that vile woman. You watched us grow up together, and I've always considered you as my own mother. You can't just watch as Crystal and I get separated. We're a family." After saying that, Stephen dropped onto his knees and banged his head against the ground. As expected, Marlene couldn't bear to see him act this way and helped him up. Crystal let out a cold snort. She knew Marlene had always been soft-hearted. Just as she was about to head in to expose his act, Marlene spoke up first. "Stephen, if you truly want the best for Crystal, you should leave. Don't see her anymore. You lost your mother at a young age. Even though I worked for your family a
