The noise from outside drifted into the tent. I paused and frowned. "I'll go see what's going on," I said as I straightened my robes and stepped out. Kyle pulled on his pants and followed me out, radiating a terrifying, unrestrained power. The moment Cedric saw me, his eyes lit up with wild joy. "Sylvia!" He tried to rush toward me. "I knew you'd still see us... Cyril's not going to make it. Please, you have to save him... I'll give you everything we brought!" Cedric barely took a step before Kyle's cold gaze pinned him in place. I stood on the steps, looking down at the scene with calm detachment. Save him, or don't? Even if I saved Cyril this time, he wouldn't last long. It would just be a few more days clinging to life. However, everyone in the Sanctuary did need the supplies Cedric was offering.
