Claire's POV When I realized it was a Bentley, my legs went weak. This was Lucius's car! The rear door swung open, and my heart raced. When I saw it wasn't Lucius stepping out, I relaxed slightly but stayed on edge. Why was Beta Adam suddenly here? "Hey, Adam," I managed to say. "Hello, ma'am." Adam's expression was serious. "Please come with us." As he finished speaking, several muscular men appeared behind him. "Did Lucius send you to take me? Why is he doing this?" I demanded, backing away. "Ms. Pierce, I assure you, we won't hurt you." Adam didn't explain further. He simply gestured to the men behind him, who started walking toward me. I turned to run without thinking twice. My baby was due soon, and I absolutely couldn't let them take me. Though I didn't know exactly what they wanted, it had to involve my child. Was Lucius trying to take my baby? No! I couldn't lose another child. This baby had become my life. I'd already lost one child. Losing another might destroy me completely.
