CHAPTER 38 What Changed? Lila My body was still shaking as I managed to cross the street, heading right into Dante's apartment. It was hard putting Anna to sleep after Lucien was around. I couldn't tell if she had seen the kiss. Or anything that happened at all.  If she did, she didn't mention anything about it. My phone rang just as I was about to ring the doorbell. I couldn't help but smile at myself as saw Olivia's number on the screen. I swiped right immediately.  “Have I become the wicked witch that you couldn't even call to tell me you have landed safely?” She asked, and I groaned.  “I'm so sorry. Things have just been busy with the kids around now. Hannah is taking care of them.” She hummed. “You're being the good mother you've always wanted to be. I think you're holding up pretty well. Any news from Lucien?” She asked, and I could feel my knees buckle.  “He came around, kissed me, and Anna woke up. I'm not exactly sure that she saw anything. If she did, she didn't say.”
