~~~~~~~~Skylar's POV~~~~~~~~ --- --- Once again, I was trapped in impenetrable darkness. The darkness swirled around me, hugging me in a tight embrace, not letting me escape. I was aware of a dull pain that had been like fire through my veins that was now receding. In the distance, I felt a presence, a welcoming entity that I was desperately trying to find. In this blackness, though, I was lost and alone. I wondered if I would forever be trapped here. It already felt like I'd been in this empty land for weeks. Where was I? I racked my brains for the last thing I could remember, the last flash of color I'd seen before the darkness came in. I remembered malevolence, the smell of death, and burning pain. I tossed and turned, neither sitting nor standing in the emptiness that surrounded me. I wondered if I was trapped in my consciousness, if something was keeping me here. Why couldn't I get out? Was I dead?
