Irene's POV Kaius and I raced out to get Simon, I noticed Dad and his army were part of the battle Ryan too was with his men all fighting against Simon's men. Simon was chanting a mantra, he was inside a magical barrier, performing the ritual. I recognized the words Simon was using, I had learnt it earlier from the book. I recalled a spell that could counter it and end all this, but I just had to think a little harder to remember it all. The sacrificial spell. The same my ancestor did years ago and it took her life. I took Kaius’ hand and I looked into his eyes. “I'm about to end all this, but I might not make it out.” Kaius furrowed his brow and took my other hand. “No. You have to make it out. Okay?” He said. I gulped and nodded. “We'll do it together.” I said smiling. Kaius kissed me and then we pulled away and fought in through the wall of defense and when we reached Simon's barrier. I tightened my grip on Kaius' hand and I started the spell. Kaiua and I floated into the air and a
