The morning after the resignation, my house was too quiet. I tried to read emails and failed. I tried to drink coffee and let it go cold.
The documents from the board were already signed and sent. There was nothing left to explain.
Gray showed up without calling first. He pushed the door wider and walked in with the kind of energy that means a fight is coming even if no one has swung yet. He stopped in front of me, hands on his hips.
