Chapter 13

I found the door and went over to it. I fumbled with the lock until I heard a click. Slowly, I turned the knob and opened the door enough so we could fit through. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding in when the door didn't make any sort of sound. I left the pack house with Evan behind me and walked down the steps. I gasped as I saw a black car pull up. Two people got out of it. I looked around frantically for a place to hide. I suddenly felt a nudge from behind me. "Just run," Evan said and I did. I ran down the rest of the steps and down the gravel path the came after the steps. As I looked behind me to make sure that Evan was keeping up, I crashed into something -or more like someone. The person caught me just before I hit the ground and steadied me. I realized it was one of the men that had gotten out of the car. I made a move to start running just as the man let me go.
