Chapter 28

"No, it doesn't bother me," I said truthfully. "I think that it's sweet of you and I really appreciate it." I couldn't help but smile at my brother when he let out a breath of relief. I hadn't noticed that his shoulders were rugged until I saw them loosen up and drop upon his relief. "It's pretty nice," I continued. "To have someone worry for me, I mean. Alex never really paid attention to me unless it was to warn me about someone or something that could be a potential threat to me-- to him." Rowan nodded. You guessed it, we sat in silence yet again. It wasn't a comfortable silence like the last couple of times.
