Chapter 48

The dining room is filled with pack members that are talking and eating with each other. I grab the spoon, bringing some chicken soup to my mouth. I pour the liquid down my throat and a warm and soothing feeling fills me. I bring the spoon once again towards my mouth and I almost drop it when I feel a hand on my shoulder.  I turn my head around and my eyes lock with his forest green ones. I shrug his hand off my shoulder and I think he gets it. I return to my bowl of greatness, but I can still feel his presence behind me, looking down at me.  "Can we talk?" His voice is gentle and low. I turn around and this time his eyes are filled with remorse.  "Can it wait for, like, a couple of minutes?" I respond and I can see the hesitation in his eyes, but he nods his head and walks back to his table. "What was that about?"
