Ella’s POV A sob ripped from my throat the moment I uttered those words. “I sacrificed our mate bond.” As if the words sucked the strength from my body in one fell swoop, I collapsed forward into Alexander’s arms. He didn’t hesitate to hold me tight against the warmth of his chest, murmuring soft words into my hair, hands running over my spine. I pressed my ear against his chest and tried to breathe. His heart was beating through his jacket, strong and steady and alive. That was all that mattered—the curse was lifted, Liam and Alexander would be okay… That was all I should have cared about.
