Alana’s POV.
We opened the gate, and soon the car was parked with my parents appearing at the front door. I welcomed them in, watching as my mother's face lit up when she saw us. Dad stood behind her, wine in hand, and simply looked at my mother before his gaze shifted to me.
“Hello, my loves. How have you been?” Mom asked, giving Alec a quick hug before turning her attention to me. She embraced me tightly, her magnolia-scented fragrance enveloping me.
“We've been great,” I replied, stepping back to let her enter the house. Her eyes immediately scanned the place, possibly looking for empty spots where she could purchase decorations and gifts. Just last week, she swung by with a huge vase set. I never complained since the colors matched the pastel aesthetic.
“Thank you for coming,” Alec said, holding the door open for my father as he removed his shoes.
“My wife can't say no to your dinner invitations,” Dad chuckled, handing Alec the wine bottle.
