I continued to chop carrots for the roast I was preparing for dinner when I heard the faint pitter patter of footsteps approaching. Glancing up towards the entrance, I saw Aurora hovering nearby, looking a little unsure. "Is there something I can do for you, sweetheart?" I asked, doing my best to make her feel welcome in my home. "Um, I was just wondering if you wanted any help? With dinner and everything." She said, motioning towards the food sprawled out around me. Cocking my head the side in curiosity, I set my knife down. Wiping my hands over my apron, I said, "You cook?" Knowing that my son can't even properly heat a cup of ramen, it would be good to know he had someone to take care of him. Not that that was necessarily the woman's job, but there needed to be at least someone in a household that could make a darn meal that was at least somewhat edible.
