I get out of the car and mutter a thanks, and a "See you later." I give him no time to chase after me or anything. I simply shift and run the way home. Once I get to the clearing where all the houses are, I shift back to human form and walk to my house. Along the way, I catch sight of Adam sitting on his front porch, staring down at the gravel.
