Chapter 29
Silas' lips pulled into a smile. He said, "Don't worry, Sarah. I love Beth. I promise I'll take good care of her."
Bethany froze at the mention of love. She hadn't expected Silas to be so cooperative, and gratitude welled up within her.
It was rare for Sarah to have visitors. Since Silas was her grandson-in-law, she eagerly chatted with him for a long time.
What put her at ease was that he showed no hint of impatience.
It seemed that Bethany had found someone who genuinely cherished her.
Silas and Bethany spent two hours at the nursing home before leaving. Bethany said solemnly, "Thank you, Silas."
Silas gave an easy smile. "No need to thank me. I'm only doing what I should. Our parents will be meeting tomorrow."
He winked at her. "I hope you'll do the same for me tomorrow, Mrs. Brennan."
