Chapter 119
Aria’s POV
I was almost skipping as we finally walked back to our quarters. It was almost impossible to control the wide grin on my face as I hummed in bliss.
“Can you stop doing that?” Knox asked with exasperation in his voice.
My grin widened. “I can’t help it! My plan worked more than I actually expected it to!” I exclaimed.
Knox let out a sigh of exasperation, but his lips twitched slightly.
“Come on, don’t tell me that you’re not happy about what happened out there!” I threw my hands up, almost smacking Knox’s face.
He gently pushed my hand away, “It's not a big deal, Aria.”
I gaped, my eyes widened in disbelief. “Not a big deal?! Seriously?! Not only did the children get comfortable with you, but did you see the look on their parents’ faces when they saw you seated on the ground, playing chess with their children?”
He shrugged, trying to look nonchalant, but I knew it was just an act. After our discussion in his office about Viktor and his mate, Knox had been tense and distant. B
