Viktor’s POV
The wolf king growled menacingly. I could see his muscles tensing to pounce at me.
I clenched my fists tightly as I stared at the monstrous wolf before me.
The shadows danced over his huge wolf form, and I resisted the urge to gulp.
His eyes were a weird red and black swirl that burned with feral rage, and had no humanity in them.
His ferocious wolf had taken over, and he was not going to stop until there was a bloodbath.
I gritted my teeth as I stared at the beast before me. All I wanted to do was unleash everything I had kept buried since the day he killed Lilith. All my fury and pain was begging to break free.
But I couldn’t. That wasn't me anymore.

If I killed her mate, I was very sure that she would feel it, and it would most definitely distract her from what she was doing, which was not a very good outcome.
