Chapter 19
I collapsed onto the ground, completely limp. Rhys was the only clear thought left in my mind. I needed him.
With the last shred of consciousness I had, I poured everything into a desperate mind-link to him.
"Rhys… The valley… Save me…"
As soon as the signal went out, a response slammed back at me—raw fury tangled with frantic urgency.
At the same time, a furious roar thundered from the valley entrance.
A massive silver-white figure tore into the valley, ripping through the air with terrifying force. It was Rhys. He shifted back into human form, his eyes burning with savage rage under the moonlight.
At a glance, he saw me curled on the ground, and Silas kneeling beside me.
"What did you do to her?" Rhys roared.
Silas didn't even have time to register what was happening. Rhys' fist came down like a thunderstrike, slamming brutally into his face.
Silas was sent flying backward, crashing into the grass in a cloud of dust.
He let out a muffled groan as blood spilled from the corn
