Chapter 11
It was the last ten seconds of the final match. The hockey puck went right into the goal, and the entire stadium erupted in wild cheering. Liam was tossed into the air by his teammates as the cheer continued, blowing the roof off the stadium.
I had been sitting in a corner of the stands and tried sneaking away when a spotlight suddenly shone on me.
"Excuse me, miss. Please stay where you are." I froze at once and couldn't open my eyes.
Liam then pushed through the crowd, got off the ice rink, and started walking toward me. He was drenched in sweat, and he didn't even bother taking off his protective gear, still clutching the victory bouquet in his hands when he stopped in front of me.
He was panting softly, and his eyes were shining ever so brightly, too. The entire stadium quietened down, and all the cameras were pointed at us.
"Iris," he said, his voice reverberating through the whole stadium as he spoke into a mic. "These flowers, this person, and this victory are all yours."
