Allison's POV
I was starving. Sprawled across the sofa in my wedding dress with bare feet, I surveyed the massive, empty house where Liam had essentially abandoned me. No breakfast and now well past noon, my stomach was waging war against me.
What good was wealth if you couldn't find a damn refrigerator? I had searched every inch of this ridiculous mansion without success. Did rich people not need to store food like the rest of us?
*Grrrrowl.*
My stomach protested again. I pressed a hand against it, feeling utterly pathetic. I had nothing with me—no phone, no purse, not even a change of clothes. Just this ridiculous white dress that suddenly felt like a cruel joke.
"I could call Liam..." I picked up the landline, then hesitated, setting it back down. No, I wouldn't bother him. That's what he'd expect.
I considered going out for food, but there was no public transportation here, and walking would probably end with me passing out on some fancy suburban sidewalk. Even if I found somewhere
