Allison's POV
I returned to the pack house with a knot in my stomach. The moment I stepped through the door, Diana rushed toward me, her face etched with worry that visibly melted into relief when she saw me.
"You didn't come home and Liam was worried sick! You should have told me where you were going." Diana's voice carried an unmistakable note of reproach.
Her eyes flicked to my reddened eyes, then to Liam's stone-cold expression. "Are you okay?" she asked, feigning concern.
"I'm going upstairs," I said flatly, already moving toward the staircase.
"Listen, Allison," Diana called after me, slightly lifting her chin with authority that wasn't hers to claim. "Liam and I grew up together. He's like a brother to me. As his wife, you should be more careful about your actions. You shouldn't cause him trouble."
