Steam curled lazily into the crisp morning air, mingling with the still silence surrounding the private hot springs. Roman glanced toward the pool where Scarlett had just settled, ensuring she was comfortable before his icy blue eyes turned to Aiden Walsh. His protective gaze shifted into something far more intimidating.
"About Ayla Quinn," Roman began, his deep voice steady but laced with suppressed danger. "Start talking."
Aiden stiffened under Roman's penetrating stare, quickly raising his hands in a gesture of surrender.
"It's nothing serious," he stammered. "We came together, but it’s not what you think. We barely know each other."
